Abstract
Ockeghem's ballade _Mort, tu as navre_ is the only securely datable work by the composer, as it commemorates the death of the composer Binchois in 1460. At the same time, the work's text, preserved in only a single source, presents several difficulties and corruptions. This study explores these problems and proposes a new edition of the text, as well as proposing a crucial emandation to the musical text in the light of normative practices to be observed in the polyphonic ballade genre during this period. Both text and music are presented in an appendix in a new edition.
