Abstract

This paper outlines a new model for the Web inspired by recent research into cognitive science. It is argued that the trend towards decentralisation requires a change from a typical client-server meta-model to one based on the idea of communicating information systems. It is further argued that to accomplish this, one must accept the idea of information as dynamic and embodied. The meta-model described is then applied to a typical existing information systems based on the Semantic Web 'wedding cake'.
