Abstract

This paper investigates the ultimate capacity of suction anchor foundations, using an advanced constitutive model. The paper explores the effect of changing the aspect ratio of the caisson on the undrained load-carrying capacity of the bucket foundations in clay. Illustrative numerical results for inorganic clay of low sensitivity from the Norrköping region in southern Sweden demonstrate the potential of the constitutive model.
