LGBT+ Domestic Abuse Needs Assessment for Central Bedfordshire Council

Donovan, Catherine and Magić, Jasna and West, Sarah (2021) 'LGBT+ Domestic Abuse Needs Assessment for Central Bedfordshire Council.', Project Report. Galop, LGBT Anti-violence charity.

Abstract

This report aims to improve understanding of: the experiences of domestic abuse in the LGBT+1 population of Central Bedfordshire; whether Central Bedfordshire domestic abuse services meet the needs of local LGBT+ people; and what changes are needed to empower LGBT+ survivors and encourage help seeking. The authors draw on the existing body of UK research into LGBT+ domestic abuse, along with primary research with both LGBT+ community members, and practitioners working in statutory and voluntary services in Central Bedfordshire in order to answer these questions.
